Obituary of Leona Mansfield

MANSFIELD- H. Leona 1908 – 2006 Henrietta “Leona” Mansfield of Calgary, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2006 at the age of 97 years. Leona was born on September 25, 1908 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England and immigrated to Canada as a young lady. She met Bill Mansfield in 1928 in Calgary and married him in 1929 in England. Their three children were born in England and eventually they immigrated to Canada, Bill and Leona returned to live here in Calgary. Leona is survived by one son Godfrey Mansfield of Calgary, AB; one daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and Ted Stoodley, of Strathmore, AB. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and four great- great grandchildren. Leona was predeceased by her husband Bill Mansfield in 1976; her daughter Joan Joel in 2005; son-in-law Donald Joel and granddaughter Gwen Geeraert in 2004. Funeral Services will be held at Church of the Good Shepherd (408 – 38th Street S.W.) on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Giovanni Di Vincenzo, Presider.
