Obituary of Eileen Pearl Ackerman

Eileen Ackerman of Calgary passed away at her residence at the age of 70 years. Eileen was born on March 19, 1935 in Maple Creek, SK. She married Benjamin Ackerman on March 6, 1953 in Maple Creek. She moved to Calgary in 1969. After raising her family Eileen attended the University of Calgary, receiving her BA in Economics. She later attended the Banff School of Advanced Management 88. Eileen started EPA Management, a stock and securities company retiring in her early fifties. She was a writer and avid reader, involved in the Adult Literacy Program. Eileen was a Research Analyst until the time of her passing. Eileen enjoyed professional Ballroom Dancing and was the founder of Dance Sport Calgary. She was also involved with Stars fundraising, MADD, the Rotary Club, the Spruce Cliff Seniors, as well as other organizations. Eileen is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Darrell and Deborah Ackerman; her daughter Darcy-Gail Ackerman of Calgary; and two grandchildren, Jennifer Ackerman of Maple Creek, and Brett (Wonnita) Ackerman of Medicine Hat, AB. She is also remembered by a brother and sister-in-law Harvey and Carol Wasilow; a sister and brother-in-law Dolorse and Lyle Bowles; god children, and nieces and nephews. Eileen was predeceased by her husband Benjamin; and her parents Andrew and Mary Wasilow. Funeral Services will be held at Christ Church Elbow Park (3602, 8th Street S.W.) on Monday, May 30, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Roy Darcus, Presider.
