Obituary of Miriam Metzner
Miriam Ludmilla Metzner of Calgary passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2005 at the age of 84 years.
Miriam was born on February 19, 1921 in Plauen, Germany. She grew up in Germany, enduring many hardships during war time. Miriam came to Canada in the early 1960’s where she worked as a housekeeper and later at the Bay Department Store. She was a very talented and artistic person who enjoyed crocheting, knitting, playing the organ or accordion and singing. She also loved spring when it came time to attend to her garden. She especially loved her cat companions — Minnie and Boubulie and her friends in Calgary and Germany. She was predeceased by her husband Fred Metzner.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, March 11, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. with Dr. Miriam Mollering officiating. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
