On Saturday, February 26, 2005 at Calgary at 92 years. Loving mother of Joan Karlowsky of Calgary, dear mother-in-law of Wayne, and loving grandmother to granddaughter Jamie and grandson Andrew. Nancy was born in Winnipeg, MB, to Helen and Ernie Bisset. She had an idyllic childhood along with younger brother Jack. From a young age she loved reading and writing, she published her first story in the local paper at age eleven. Nancy began her career in the 1930’s as a Newspaper Reporter for the Winnipeg Free Press. During the Second World War, she joined the CWAC stationed in Calgary where she worked in Public Relations. During the war Sergeant Bisset married Sergeant Alexander Gardner (Scotty) Kennedy. Nancy finished her stint in the Army, moved back to Winnipeg where she rejoined the Free Press with her own column. Life in Winnipeg with Scotty, local Horse Owner and Businessman, included bridge games, Junior League, family and many friendships. As a widow, Nancy moved to Vancouver to be with her family and ten years ago everyone moved to Calgary. Nancy’s presence contributed greatly to her family.
