Obituary of Ila Florence Young

Ila Florence Young passed away peacefully in the early morning on Monday, December 20, 2004 at the Bethany Care Centre at the age of 74 years. Ila was born and raised in Cumberland, AB. She shared almost forty wonderful years of her life with her husband George in Springbank until his death in 1997. Since the fall of 2001, she has resided at the Bethany Care Centre in Calgary. Ila was always known for her wonderful baking and her willingness to do any job that needed to be done. Ila will be missed by her two brothers, David (Adeline) Guynup, and Harold (Dorothy) Guynup; her children, William (Melody) Young, Diane Young, Marilyn (Walter) Gripping, Shirley (Merle) Ewing, and Brad Young; her grandchildren, Tim and Michael Young, Gordie, Beth, Teresa, James and Vince Gripping, Rita, Opal, Rick, and Elya Ewing. The Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2004 at the Springbank United Church Cemetery (one mile North of Calaway Park) at 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Ila’s life will be held at First Church of the Nazarene (65 Richard Way S.W.) on Thursday, December 23 at 4:00 pm. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
