Obituary of Milton Dancey
Milton Dancey of Calgary passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Monday, November 15, 2004 at the age of 91 years.
Milton was born on October 4, 1913 in Wheatley, ON and moved to Alberta in 1918. The family farmed in Strathmore, AB and owned the hotel at Pine Lake, AB. He met Daisy Reay at Pine Lake and married her on June 30, 1940. They moved to Calgary where Milton was employed with Neon Products Ltd., and later, he, with partners, began Neon Sales and Service Ltd. and Neon Contractors Ltd.
Milton is survived by two sons, James and Gary Dancey; one daughter Marilyn and son-in-law Alex Ritchie, all of Calgary; five grandchildren, Heather and Sandra Ritchie, Kelly Gunsch (Dan), Jeff Dancey and Megan Klein (Paul). He is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Pat Dancey of Calgary and two sisters-in-law, Edith Reay and Kate Svederus, both of Red Deer, AB. Milton was predeceased by his wife Daisy on February 16, 2004; a son Allan in 1982; as well as two sisters and four brothers.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, November 22, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Linda Hunter of Wild Rose United Church officiating. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
