Obituary
Obituary of Diane Linda Newitt
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter, Diane Linda Newitt on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at the age of 54 years, after a courageous fifteen month, battle with cancer.
Our angel fought with courage and dignity until the very end.
Diane was born in the Crowsnest Pass on April 17, 1950. She met the love of her life, Murray, in Calgary and they were married in 1969. She worked as a hairdresser for several years and became a homemaker and took great pride taking care of numerous children. Some of Diane’s favourite pasttimes were fastball, gardening, traveling, and the odd night out to Bingo and a little gambling. However, her most precious moments were the times she spent with her grandchildren and family, especially playing Yahtzee with her mom. Through her battle she taught us all what strength and courage was all about, never complaining of pain or fear, only encouraging us all to be strong. We will always be together and will never forget all that you gave us. “Till we meet again.”
Diane leaves to mourn Murray, her loving husband of thirty-five years; her loving children, Richard (Tammy), Grant (Shawn), and Amanda (Cam); her precious angels, Jagr, Colton, and Kyleigh (we love you mama); her loving mother Astrid Misson; sisters, Bev (Charlie), Judy (Ron), Gwen (Darren); brothers, Gary (Marie) and Ron (Corrine); as well as her special nephew Darcy and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many cherished friends; along with her best friend, her dog Sandy. Diane was predeceased by her father Glenn; sisters, Jean Frances and Wendy Lee; her grandparents, Joe (Flo), and Axel (Hilda).
