Obituary of William Royal Shiels
William Royal Shiels of Calgary passed away at the Carewest Signal Pointe on Friday, November 12, 2004 at the age of 89 years.
William was employed by the C.P.R. until his retirement. He was also a P.O.W. for five years during the Second World War. William was very much a gentleman to those who he came in contact with.
William is survived by his brothers, Albert of New Zealand, Robert, and Edward and his wife Doris; his sister Martha; and his nephews Michael and Mark all of Scotland. He will also be sadly missed by his cousin-in-law and guardian Elspeth Kaleta. William was predeceased by his loving wife Jean in 2001.
Elspeth would like to extend a special thanks to Sandra, Helen and all the girls in House Four Carewest Signal Pointe; they were so wonderful to Bill. As well, a special thanks goes to Andrea for her many years of friendship and help to both Jean and Bill and to Marilyn who was his dedicated companion. Thanks also to Dr. Bradley, Martha and staff for their help during the past years.
