Obituary of Harry Thompson Atkinson
Harry Thompson (Tom) Atkinson of Calgary, passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Sunday, October 24, 2004 at the age of 76 years.
Tom was born on January 9, 1928 in Swift Current, SK and moved to Calgary in 1951 where he married and settled. He worked as a Truck Driver and Dispatcher for North American Van Lines and then into cabinetry work. Over the years he enjoyed curling and bowling and did volunteer work for the Salvation Army delivering Christmas hampers. Tom spent many years battling heart and cardio problems finally losing the long battle to cancer.
Tom is survived by a son and a daughter-in-law, Ron and Bonnie Atkinson of Red Deer; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Susan and Rick Mason of Calgary, and Bev and Bob Godsalve of Calgary; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Donna and Gary Raasch and Judy and Bill Fee; and two sisters-in-law, Ruth (Matt) Roach and Addie Tice; thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Emma, mother Josephine and father Tom, sister Joanie and brother Don.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Friday, October 29, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
