Obituary of Andrei Kalu Obasi
Andrei Kalu Obasi beloved son of Lubov and Chuk, passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, September 30, 2004 at the age of 18 years.
Andrei was born on April 12, 1986 in the Ukraine and moved to Nigeria with his parents at the age of five where he started his education. In November of 2000 he immigrated to Canada and resided in Ottawa, attending St. Patrick’s Catholic High School, graduating in 2004. Andrei later moved to Calgary working for the summer and then on to Grande Prairie, attending Grande Prairie Regional College to study music. He had a great desire to please his friends playing the guitar and keyboard. Andrei had an easy going personality was kind hearted and a passionate individual with a great smile which made him many friends. He was a very active member of the college soccer team, liked skateboarding, and computer games. Andrei enjoyed his time spent in Grande Prairie. Though his life was short, he enjoyed it to the fullest.
Besides his loving parents Lubov and Chuk, Andrei is survived by his sister, Anya; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Friday, October 8, 2004 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel on Saturday, October 9, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Douglas Peebles of Brentview Baptist Church officiating. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
