Obituary of Gary Allan Arason
Gary Allan Arason of Calgary passed away at home, where he resided for the past seven years with his mother, on Friday, September 24, 2004 at the age of 51 years.
Gary was born on October 29, 1952, in Winnipeg, MB where he attended the University of Manitoba and Red River Community College. He received, respectively, his BA with an Economics major and his Business Administration Diploma. Gary received a scholarship for school and worked for the CNR as a station agent. He was a talented curler and a provincial champion and went on to represent Manitoba in the Winter Games in Saskatoon. Gary was in the Air Force Cadets, in which he took great pride. After university he moved to Calgary and worked in the oil industry as a Financial Analyst. Gary became involved in swimming and skiing, for which he won a Bronze Medal in the Paraplegic Games, and enjoyed a good game of Scrabble with his mother.
Gary will be sadly missed by his mother Evelyn Pantel; brothers and sisters, Glen, Dianne (Guy) Thornton, Lynette (Bob) Lagimodiere, Cindy, and Neil (Kelly); his nieces and nephews, Michael and Kristin Arason, Andrea and Leslie Arason, Christine and Jillian Thornton, Lindsay Lagimodiere, and Liam and Charlotte Arason; as well as his aunts, Lillian Thiele and Arlette (Pete) Johns. Gary was predeceased by his father Allan Triggvi Arason.
