Obituary of Irma Hartland
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden loss of Irma Hartland of Calgary on Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at the age of 73 years.
Irma was born in Surabaia, Indonesia; she immigrated to Calgary in 1954 and married Arnold that year. She was a stay at home mother raising her six children. At the age of fifty-three she entered the work force part time with Westbrook Physiotherapy and worked there until she died. Irma will be fondly remembered for her famous Indonesian kitchen. Her family was the centre of her life and she will be sorely missed.
Irma was the beloved wife of forty-nine years of Arnold Hartland; and mother to Lester (Diane), David, Maryke (Bill), Jenny (Julian), Lorraine, Jessica (Pierre); grandmother to Mark (Kendra), Matthew, Stephanie, Jacob, Michael, Alison, Ethan, Zoe, Kelson and Cameron. She also leaves a brother, Dan; and sisters, Josephine and Jesse; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. We are grateful for the efforts of the emergency personnel who responded to our call.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Friday, September 10 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
