Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Cary
Mary Elizabeth Cary of Calgary passed away at the George Boyack Care West on Monday, July 19, 2004 at the age of 91 years.
Mary was born on July 6, 1913 in Airdrie, AB. She left the Airdrie area at the age of six when the family moved to a farm north of Calgary. She married Paul and together they began farming with Paul’s parents until acquiring their own farm near Balzac, AB. In 1980 they retired to their home in Calgary. Throughout Mary’s life she was an active member of her church and was always involved in helping in her community.
Mary is survived by her nephew Alan Rickard of Calgary; cousin Peggy Kelly; great-nephew Lance Rickard; great-nieces, Donna Kavanagh and Lindsay Rickard, all of Calgary; niece and nephew-in-law, Arlene Rickard of Calgary and Dale Carpenter of Okotoks, AB; and several other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Paul; brother Herbert; nephew John Rickard; niece Shirley Carpenter; and great-nephew David Carpenter.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, July 22, 2004 at 2:30 P.M. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
