Obituary of Peter Reynolds McClocklin

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of their Hero, Husband, Father, Papa, Brother, Uncle and Friend, Peter Reynolds McClocklin, who passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Sunday, July 4, 2004 at the age of 64 years. His heroic battle with cancer is over. Peter was born on May 22, 1940 in Saskatoon, SK. He moved to Vancouver, BC in 1960 to work and there he met his wife, Lorrie. They were married in North Vancouver in 1962 and moved to Saskatoon where they lived for eleven years before moving to Calgary in 1973. Peter was active with the Kinsmen, joining the Saskatoon Kinsmen Club in 1962 and then transferred to the Stampede City Kinsmen Club in Calgary where he was given a Life Membership in 1981. Peter was a member of the K-40 Club for twenty years. He worked in the Insurance business for over thirty years before retiring in 1999 where he was employed with General Accident as a Senior Commercial Underwriter. Peter was a very gentle and quiet man and was loved so very much. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren; they were loved more than they will ever know. Besides his loving wife Lorrie, of forty-one years, Peter is survived by a son, Brent; two daughters and sons-in-law, Margo and Darren Speirs, Wendy and Jason Downey; seven grandchildren, Jordan, Jaryd and Jakob and their mother Cindy, Delainey and Hunter, and Kara and Cale; one sister Margot Rayburn of Ottawa, ON; three nieces Kathy Ryan (Andre), Cynthia Ryan (Tim) and their families all of Ottawa, ON and Joanie Ryan (Greg) and their family of Barrie, ON. He is also survived by a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Stan and Lois Mill and their children Shannon (Shawn) LaRose and their family all of St. Albert, Mark (Sharon) Mill and their family of Grand Prairie, and Craig Mill and Glenn Mill. Peter was predeceased by his parents Osborne in 1992 and Helen in 2002. He will be deeply missed by his wife, family and many friends. A Celebration of Peter’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Thursday, July 8, 2004 at 2:30 P.M.
