Obituary of Erna Christine Horn

Erna Christine Horn, of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on Friday, June 18, 2004 at the age of 96 years. Erna and her family emigrated from Germany in 1953 and settled in Lethbridge where she resided until June 2003. She was very active in the Christ Trinity Lutheran Church in Lethbridge and was active for many years in the German Club. Erna loved to bowl. Our beloved Oma, will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jack and Shirley Horn, and a daughter Brigitte Calkhoven, all of Calgary; three grandchildren, Carey, Mark, and Kelly-Lynn; and five great-grandchildren, Brianne, Calen, Evan, Sophia, and Alexa. She is also survived by two sisters, Trude and Frieda; a brother Walter; and numerous nieces, and nephews, all of Germany. A Graveside Service will be held at Queen’s Park Cemetery, on Thursday, June 24, 2004 at 1:30 P.M. A Memorial Service will be held at the Lutheran Church Of The Cross (10620 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, June 24, 2004 at 3:00 P.M. with the Pastor William Wiegert officiating.
