Obituary of Padma Nand
Padma Nand, beloved wife of Ram of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital on Friday, June 11, 2004 at the age of 63 years.
She went peacefully holding her husband’s hand. Padma and Ram were married forty-seven years, twelve years of which Ram cared for her in her declining health. He was her constant companion during their devoted relationship. Padma was originally from the Fiji Islands and immigrated to Canada in 1968. She loved to travel and experience new things prior to her deterioration of health. Family and friends were an important component in her life.
Besides her loving husband Ram, Padma is also survived by her daughter Rashim of Edmonton and son Dinesh (Naeema) of Calgary. She also leaves behind her four grandsons, Nyron, Adin, Doron, and Ehren. As well, mourning her passing are her mother Jamuna Bai; brother Kishun Lal (Gitta), both of Vancouver, BC; Bishun Lal (Pushpa) of Sacramento, CA; and sister Kamla Kishore (Ram) of Kelowna, BC. Padma will also be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and other close family members throughout Canada, the United States, the Fiji Islands, Australia, and New Zealand. She was predeceased by her daughter Pravina, father Lal Kishun, and brother Bishun Deo (Nirmala).
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at 5:00 P.M. To forward condolences go to www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
