Obituary of Anna Marie Strack
Anna Marie Strack (nee Fraser) of Calgary passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, May 27, 2004 at the age of 69 years.
The youngest daughter of Isabella and Walter L. Fraser, Anna Marie was born on May 23, 1935 in Calgary and was raised in Calgary and Vancouver, BC. She received her RN degree from St. Pauls Hospital in Vancouver in 1957 and moved to Calgary in 1960 to be married to Peter. Anna Marie was active in all aspects of her family’s growth and care as a volunteer at her children’s school, with the Cubs, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides and later in UNICEF. She was also the family chauffeur to many activities at the Calgary Winter Club during the children’s growth. She participated in Curling and other activities at the Winter Club and was also a twenty-two year member of the Norseman Ski Club in Calgary. Winter was a joyous time in Anna Marie’s life, her summers were happily spent at her cabin on the Shuswap Lakes of BC, usually surrounded by her family. Her love of travel took her on memorable trips throughout the world with the latest in 2003 to Scotland, the land of her heritage.
Anna Marie is survived by Peter, her loving husband of forty-four years; four children, John and Diane of Kelowna and their children Randi and David, David and Jana of Friendswood, TX and their children, Jordan and Jade, Andrew and Sherry and their son Connor, and Karen, all of Calgary. She is also survived by two sisters, Bunnie McMillan and Lola Saroka and two sisters-in-law, Teddy Fraser and Doris Fraser.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church (2424 – 24th Avenue N.W.) on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at 10:30 A.M. with the Rev. Bogdan Sianozecki SDS officiating.
