Obituary of Sandy Hassel
Sandy Lynn Hassel, beloved wife of Egon Hassel of Calgary, passed away at her residence on Sunday, May 23, 2004 at the age of 56 years.
A native Calgarian, Sandy lived here most of her life. She was the fifth eldest of eight children. Throughout her entire life Sandy was an optimist who always carried a smile with her. She fought a long battle with cancer which she faced with courage.
Besides her loving husband Sandy is also survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Andy MacPherson of Calgary; four sons, Gordie Fry of Fox Creek, AB, Trevor Hassel, Blaine Hassel, and Ryan Hassel, all of Calgary; and one grandson James Fry of Princeton, BC. She is also survived by her mother Elsie Grant of Water Valley, AB; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Kathy Grant of Red Deer, Gary and Janice Grant of Water Valley and Howard and Anita Grant of Cremona; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Gina and Len Williams, Corinne and Clarence Swanson and Bonnie and Doug Meiklejohn of Calgary; as well as numerous other relatives. Sandy was predeceased by her sister Marilyn Harvey and her father George Grant.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) today, May 27, 2004 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, May 28, 2004 at 2:30 P.M. with Pastor Todd Harris of Evangelical Covenant Church officiating.
