Obituary of Wilfred Greenwood Hoyle

Wilfred Hoyle, beloved husband of Margaret Andrew Hoyle, dear father of Dinah Hoyle (Earl) of Toronto and Robin Barclay (Robert) of Calgary, cherished grandfather of Graham and Laura Barclay, loving brother to Mary Parsons of White Rock, BC, and caring uncle to many nieces and nephews, passed away peacefully at Bow View Manor on Thursday, May 20, 2004 at the age of 88 years. Wilfred (Wilf) was predeceased by his first wife Margaret Menzies Allan in 1985 and his siblings, Gilbert, Kathleen, Leonard, Peggy, Pat, and Eileen. Born in Nordegg, Alberta in 1915, Wilfred spent his childhood in the Crowsnest Pass and Calgary. After receiving his Engineering Degrees from the Universities of Alberta and McGill, he spent much of his adult life in Ottawa where he worked for the National Research Council. He moved to Calgary in 1986. A Memorial Service will be held at The Seniors’ Residence at the Colonel Belcher (1945 Veterans Way N.W.) on Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at 1:30 P.M. with Pastor Philip Costain officiating.
