Obituary of H. Maxine Stark
H. Maxine Stark (nee Adams) of Calgary, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at the age of 74 years.
Maxine was born in Grande Prairie, AB., and was raised in the Beaverlodge area. She pursued post-secondary studies in education and music in Vancouver and Victoria before moving to Calgary. She taught for the Calgary Public School Board for many years, until her retirement in 1995. She was passionate about teaching and her love for her students was returned, with many of them remaining in touch with Maxine after leaving school. She had a fond love for the wilderness, in particular Canada’s north and the Rockies, and instilled these values in her children. She is survived by one daughter Tamara Stark of Vancouver; her two sons and one daughter-in-law, William Stark and Sharon Parker of Calgary; and Alan Stark of Ottawa. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law George and Colleen Adams of Beaverlodge, AB., sister and brother-in-law Gail and Ray Schweitzer of Calgary.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. with the Rev.
