Obituary of Irma Marx
Irma “Mary” Marx of Calgary passed away peacefully on her late husband Ferdinand’s birthday at the Bethany Care Harvest Hills on Friday, May 7, 2004 at the age of 88 years.
Mary is joining her husband Ferdinand who predeceased her in 1989 and her son Alfred in 2002. She is survived by her son Heinz “John” (Carol); her daughter-in-law Linda; six grandchildren, Monica, Darren, Trudi, Bonnie, Russell, and Taneah; and eleven great-grandchildren, all of Calgary as well as numerous relatives in Austria.
Mary was born in Lackendorf, Austria on December 24, 1915 and immigrated with her family to Calgary in 1954. She was known as the “Perfect Grandma” and had a heart of gold. Her life revolved around her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary will be sadly missed and remembered by her family and all those who knew her.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, May 10, 2004 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at 12:30 P.M. with the Rev. A. Wayne Poile officiating.
