Obituary of Eleanor Zmurchyk

Eleanor Zmurchyk of Calgary, passed away very peacefully on Friday April 23, 2004 at the Mayfair Care Centre at the age of 89. She was a 1938 grad of the Calgary General Hospital. She married Johnny in 1942 and took pride in the care of her family, home and garden. She was able to remain at home until her minor stroke in March of 2004. Many summer holidays took the family to Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho and for shopping in Spokane. Upon retirement, John and Eleanor (snowbirds) traveled to Phoenix for Happy Hours, sun and Saturday night dancing. Her ardent love of ball room dancing and music kept her young! Eleanor took great pleasure watching and cheering on her Stampeders, Flames and Phoenix Suns. She took great pride and joy watching her children and grandchildren participate in their chosen sports and academic achievements. Eleanor is survived by her loving daughters Gail (Dale) Plumb of Calgary; Shirley Murphy of Toronto and grandchildren Nicole, Brennan, Susan and Karen. She is also survived by her brothers Don and Joe. She is predeceased by her husband John in 1988, her siblings Louise, Kay, Fred and George.
