Obituary of Charlotte Beugin

Charlotte (Lottie) Beugin of Calgary passed away peacefully and with dignity at Intercare Southwood Care Centre on Thursday, April 22, 2004 at the age of 91 years. She leaves behind to miss her terribly, her two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Mary Ellen, and Ron and Sue; her beloved grandchildren, Jeff (Lori) Beugin, Lisa (Kevin) Green, and Dale and Julie Beugin; her great-grandchildren, Tyler Green and Aidan Beugin; and her brother-in-law Max Beugin. Much of Lottie’s life centred around the events of the Second World War. She began her adult odyssey when she left Vienna, Austria in 1938 to pursue a nursing career in England. There she met a Canadian soldier of the R.C.E.M.E. Division, Jean (John) Beugin, whom she married in Epsom, England. Lottie came to Calgary as a war bride, which brought many long-time friendships through the Alberta War Brides Association. As a wife and mother, her family was very important to her. She was predeceased by her husband Jean in April 1995, but continued living in their home in Bowness with its beautiful trees and garden right up until 2002. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street N.) on Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at 2:30 P.M.
