Obituary of Donald Leonard Blair
Donald (Don) Leonard Blair, beloved husband of Ellen Elizabeth (Cosford) of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Carewest Colonel Belcher Care Centre on Monday, April 19, 2004 at the age of 79 years.
Don joined the Royal Canadian Air Force at the age of nineteen. He traveled all over Canada, bringing him to Calgary in 1949, where he met Ellen, his bride. After postings in Chatham, NB, North Bay, ON, Goose Bay, Labrador, 4 Wing, Germany and Camp Borden, ON, Don retired from the Air Force in 1968 when he and Ellen chose to make Calgary their permanent home. He counted many people from the campsite as good friends. He will be remembered as a generous and loving man who would help and support others in any way he could.
Don is survived by Ellen, his wife of almost fifty-four years; his three daughters, Debbie Blair of Vancouver, BC, Sandra (Lloyd) Dowkes, and Gwen Gemmell of Calgary; and his son Derek (Anna Maria) Blair of Red Deer, AB.
