Obituary of Baptiste Jr.
Harvey “Brandon” (Chief) Baptiste Jr. was called home suddenly by his heavenly Father on Sunday, April 18, 2004 at the age of 23 years.
Chief was born in Calgary on December 10, 1980 and was raised in Morley. He received his education at Morley School. He enjoyed travelling to visit his relatives. He will be remembered for his smile, his respect for his friends and family and everyone else whose lives he has touched.
He will be deeply missed by his parents, Harvey and Cecelia Baptiste; two brothers, Todd (Krissy) and Ryan (Melvina); four sisters, Colleen, Denise Webster-Redwing, Darla, and Marie; his special girlfriend, Fontella Twoyoungmen; and his nieces and nephews. Chief will also be remembered by uncles, Dexter Anaskan, Delbert (Joyce) Anaskan, Maynard Anaskan, Robert (Laura) Anaskan, Marcel (Ora) Baptiste, Henry (Debra) Baptiste, Hank (Joleen) Ear, Elston Twoyoungmen, Preston Twoyoungmen, Myron (Diane) Baptiste, and Claude Lefthand and Stuart Dixon Jr., both of Eden Valley; aunties, Lorraine Anaskan, Cynthia (Alphonse) Obey, Gerta Anaskan, Debbie (Richard) Baptiste, Christine Holloway; grandmother Irene Baptiste Jenny Clarke (Kokum); other grandparents, Eva Baptiste, Mary Baptiste, Elsie (Eddie) Holloway, Helen (Walter) Chiniquay, Corrina (Lenny) Wesley, Georgie (Mac) Chiniquay, Violet Rider, Norman (Debbie) Baptiste, and Genrich Baptiste; great-grandma Tina Holloway; his special friends and cousins, Clint Snow, Zackery Rider, Waylon Nanaquawetung, Kingsley Anaskan, George and Byron Toto, Steven and Blaine Baptiste, Jerome Baptiste, Sonny and Clay Holloway, Fred and Jay Anaskan, Christopher Stevens, Levi Holloway, Kathy, Michelle and Angela Salter, and Shelley Holloway; and numerous aunties, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces, and Irene Baptiste’s adopted son Darrell Goodwill of AZ, as well as all those we’ve missed.
Chief was predeceased by his grandparents, Sam Baptiste, Emily Anaskan, Herman Hotomani and Raymond Baptiste; great-grandparents Alex and Lilly Baptiste, uncles Aubrey Baptiste and Curtis Baptiste; and auntie Lisa Pelletier.

Wake Services will be held at the residence of Harvey and Cecelia Baptiste on Thursday, April 22, 2004 and Friday, April 23, 2004. Funeral Services will be held at Morley School Gymnasium (Morley, AB) on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. Graveside Service to follow at Bearspaw Cemetery.
