Obituary of Joyce Henderson

Joyce Henderson (nee McLennan), the loving Mom of Scott and Susan, passed away peacefully at the AgapÚ Manor Hospice on Thursday, April 15, 2004 after a short and courageous battle with breast cancer at the age of 70 years. Joyce was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland and immigrated to Canada via the “Queen Mary” in 1954 to marry the love of her life Alexander. She was predeceased by her husband Alexander. Besides her loving children, Joyce will always be remembered and loved by her dear friend and sister-in-law May Dwyer, her nieces and nephews, MaryLynn, Lisa (Frank), Brian (April), Blair (Dianne); and all of their wonderful children. Joyce will also be sadly missed by her favourite cousin Gordon (Marie) Baird and Gordon’s children, Dianne (Alan) and Jacqueline. Joyce’s younger brother Bobby and his children, Fionna and Jacqueline of England will miss her deeply. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Sunday, April 18, 2004 at 2:30 P.M. with the Rev. James Paton officiating. A Memorial Service for Joyce will also be held in Burlington, ON within the next few weeks to honour Joyce with her dear friends and family members that could not celebrate her life in Calgary.
