Obituary of Irene Bertha Singelenberg
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Irene B. Singelenberg after a courageous battle with cancer at the AgapÚ Manor Hospice on Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at the age of 75 years.
Irene was born in Sea-Cow-Pond, P.E.I.; she lived in Airdrie, AB for twenty-five years before moving to Calgary on October 3, 2003. She was a very generous and loving wife and mother, whose family came first. Irene was very artistic and made lovely hand-work. She also enjoyed playing guitar and singing with her family and friends. Irene will be greatly missed by all.
Besides her loving husband John, Irene is survived by daughters, Barbie (Mike) Rehberg, Rosie (Abe) Sampson, Bernie (Ambrose) Sampson, Brenda (Don) Sampson, and Marlene Sampson, all of Cape Breton, NS, and Donna Perman (Mike) of Saskatchewan; grandchildren, Karen Crocker, Cherese Stevens, April Sampson, Holly Mitchell, Melissa Perman, and Mikala Anderson; great-grandchildren, Acadia Sampson and Temeka Stevens; brothers, Bert Shea (Edna) and Kenneth Shea (Shirley); sisters, Viola (Dave) de Molitor, Ada (Russel) Monroe, all of NS, Frances Moreau of Montreal, QC, Rita Cameron and Syd Young, and Iris Moseley of Calgary, AB; many nephews and nieces.
Irene was predeceased by her son Eldon Leo Stanton; grandson Adam Le Messurier; parents, Leo and Irene Shea (1978); brother Vernet Shea (2001); and sisters, Joice, Bertha and Mary Adeline Shea.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Sunday, April 18, 2004 from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, April 19, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. with the Rev. A. Wayne Poile officiating.
