Obituary of Clare Shoemaker
Clare Shoemaker, beloved husband of Judy Shoemaker of Calgary, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at the age of 60 years.
Clare was born and raised in the Elora area of Ontario, leaving in 1962 to come west. He travelled to various parts of BC before arriving in Swift Current, SK in 1965 where he met his wife Judy. He has owned and operated his own business since 1966 going wherever there was construction and drywall jobs settling in Lethbridge, AB in 1970, and relocating to Calgary in 1978 where he has made his home since. Clare always gave one hundred and ten percent to his family and business and lived life to the fullest. Clare valued all the friendships he made over the years, with his many customers, suppliers, and business associates. Above all, Clare was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Clare will be sadly missed by his wife Judy; his three sons and daughter-in-law, Lee, Trevor and Nathalie, and Ryan; his two little grandsons Jakob, and Tyler. He is remembered by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn and Joan, Ray and Barb, Lyal and Berna, Lorne and Donna, Stuart and Linda; sisters and brothers-in-law Eileen Habermehl, Vera and Doug Ireland, and Eva and Don Schell; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Keith and Phyllis Hanna, Don and Toni Hanna, and Clarence and Lynda Hughes. Clare also leaves behind a large number of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Predeceased by his parents George and Anna; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Dorothy Hanna; his sister Fern; and brother-in-law Leonard Habermehl.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Monday, March 29, 2004 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
