Obituary of Maxime Denis Durand

Maxime (Max) Durand passed away at the Father Lacombe Care Centre on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at the age of 78 years. Max was born and raised in Zurich, ON, and traveled to Alberta in 1950, where he met and married Anita in 1953. Max was a founding member of St. Gerard’s Parish and a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus. The family was the focus of his life. Some of Max’s passions were card playing, crossword puzzles and getting together with loved ones. He leaves to mourn his wife of fifty years Anita; and their children, Andrienne and husband Douglas Beckstead, John and wife Tracy Durand, Michele and husband Tim Connelly, Denise Durand, and Jackie and husband Brad Peltier. “Our PÚpere” will be lovingly missed by his twelve grandchildren, Claire, Paul and Jocelyn Beckstead; Shannon, Katelan and Jamie Durand; Danielle and Peter Connelly; and Michael, Laura, Adam and Eric Peltier. He is also survived by a sister Jean Patterson; two brothers, Orland and Phil Durand, all of Ontario; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. MacLellan, officiating. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. with the Very Rev.
