Obituary of John B. Sterrenberg
John Sterrenberg, beloved husband of Yvonne Sterrenberg of Priddis, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday, March 14, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 43 years.
John was born on November 3, 1960 in Lethbridge, and moved to Calgary as a child with his parents. He graduated from Lord Beaverbrook High School in 1978, and then from SAIT in 1980. John was a successful geologist who loved his work. He married Yvonne Cook on June 28, 2003. John enjoyed restoring cars, his country home, and fishing in Kenora, ON with his friends. He was a loving husband, son, brother, and great friend to many. He will be sadly missed.
Along with his loving wife Yvonne, John is also survived by his parents, Elizabeth and Willem Sterrenberg; and a sister Corinne Sterrenberg all of Calgary. John will also be remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends in the United States and the Netherlands. He was predeceased by his brother Ken on August 5, 1999.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Friday, March 19, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Murray Swalm of Bonavista Evangelical Missionary Church, officiating.
