Obituary of Jean Mary Goring
Jean Mary Goring of Calgary passed away at the Intercare Chinook Care Centre on Friday, March 5, 2004 at the age of 94 years.
Jean was born in Chatham, NB on May 13, 1909. She was an avid tennis player and accomplished lawn bowler, winning several trophies.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bevan (Edna) Murray of Calgary, and Ronald (Pam) Murray of Brechin, ON; a grandson David (Jean) Murray of Calgary; a granddaughter Debra Murray and partner Harvey Komhyr of Calgary; two grandsons, Joseph Murray and Steven (Manuela) Murray, a great-grandson Mitchell; and a great-granddaughter Hannah, all of Ontario. Jean is also survived by sisters, Anne Stewart of Truro, NS, Yvonne Merritt of Springhill, NS and a brother Al (Helen) Breau of Amherst, NS; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Nova Scotia. She was predeceased by her husbands Frank Murray and Vic Goring; sisters, Kay and Helen; brother Jimmy; mother Philomene (Mallet); and father Andrew Breau.
In honouring Jean’s wishes there will not be a Funeral Service. An open house will be held at the residence of Bevan and Edna Murray on Saturday, March 20, 2004 from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.
