Obituary of Ethel Smith
Ethel Smith, of Calgary, went to be with the Lord on the evening of Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at the age of 89 years.
Ethel was born in Manchester, England on August 1, 1914 and grew up on Leslie Street in Toronto. A long-time member of St. Clements Church, she married Carson Smith in 1938. Ethel worked as a Dental Assistant in Toronto. She loved working with people and helped many over the years. In 1987 Ethel and Carson moved to Calgary.
She is survived by her sister Mildred Paterson of Nova Scotia; her daughter Sharon Taylor (Doug Evans) of Victoria; three grandsons, Mark (Michelle) Taylor of Calgary, James Taylor of Calgary and Jon (Lisa) Taylor of PEI; two great-granddaughters, Jocelyn and Carlyn; as well as several nieces and nephews. Ethel was predeceased by her husband Carson and a sister Edith (Gauvereau). Her cheerful smile and feisty attitude to life will be sadly missed by all of us. Don’t cry for Mom – she is safely in the arms of her Saviour. Rejoice in her life. It was a good one.
