Obituary of Margaret Alice Jane Gilliland

Margaret Gilliland (nee Carson) of Calgary passed away at the Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre on Sunday, February 22, 2004 at the age of 83 years. Margaret was born on January 10, 1921 in Wayne, AB. She was a fifty-three year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Strathcona Branch No. 150. Margaret is remembered by a daughter Jeanette and Howard Homan; a son-in-law Vern Bachor, all of Calgary; five grandchildren, Linnet and Wade Schumaker of Calgary, Howard Jr. and Tracy Homan of Sussex, NB, Chris and Kerrie Reschke, Kathy and Cole Harris, and Jennifer and Brett Bates, all of Calgary; twelve great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Thelma Carson of Edmonton. She was predeceased by her first husband Russell Hubbard, her second husband Henry (Frank) Merta, her third husband Robert Gilliland, her daughter Georgina Bachor in 1997, and her younger brother James Carson. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, February 26, 2004 at 12:30 P.M.
