Obituary of Chantelle Mae Leost

Chantelle Mae LÚost, age 26, of Calgary, AB passed away on January 18, 2004 following a courageous battle with cancer. Chantelle was born on May 18, 1977 in Prince Albert, SK to Lawrence and Wanda Dyck. In her childhood, Chantelle was quick to make friends and was very loyal to them. She was known as a leader with a very determined will, often taking charge to make sure things were done right, traits that she carried into adulthood. After excelling academically through Rivier and Carlton Comprehensive high schools in Prince Albert, Chantelle began her college education at the University of Regina before completing her Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Saskatchewan in 2001, majoring in Accounting. It was during her studies in Saskatoon that a mutual friend introduced Chantelle to her future husband Marc. From the age of fifteen Chantelle spent her summers working, beginning at the local Co-Op and then as a tour guide for Weyerhaeuser. Following her graduation Chantelle moved to Calgary to pursue her Chartered Accountant designation with the accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers. Chantelle developed some of her closest friendships and greatest memories with her co-workers. In September 2003 Marc and Chantelle proudly purchased their first home. On January 10, 2004 Chantelle and Marc were happily married in their home, in the presence of their parents. Chantelle will be remembered for her unconditional friendships, her inner and outer beauty, her incredible talent for making art, her amazing courage, strength and hope in the face of adversity as well as opportunity, and an unwavering dedication to her family and husband. There are people who come into our lives that make us better, simply by knowing them. Chantelle is one of those people. Chantelle is survived by her husband Marc LÚost; parents Lawrence and Wanda; three sisters, Nicole (and her children Kalyn, Jayden, and Tanner), Naomi (fiancÚ James McNeice) and Savanna; brother Kyle; grandfather Henry Dyck; mother-in-law Ellen LÚost (Cameron); brothers-in law, Marcel and Paul LÚost; along with many family and friends. Chantelle was predeceased by her grandparents Mike and Valerie (Rakus) Stefanowski; Agatha Dyck (Neubuhr); step-grandmother Ruth Dyck (McKenzie); uncle Calvin Dyck; aunt Janet Dyck (Bantle); and father-in-law Henri LÚost. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at Sacred Heart Cathedral (1401 – 4th Avenue West, Prince Albert, SK) on Friday, January 23, 2004 at 7:00 P.M. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 24, 2004 at 2:00 P.M., also at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Interment will follow in Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
