Obituary of Margaret Tarry

Margaret Tarry (nee Collins) of Calgary passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital surrounded by family on Monday, January 19, 2004 at the age of 87 years. Margaret was born in Wynyard, SK in 1916 to John and Margaret Collins. She married Arnold Godfrey Tarry in Wynyard in 1940 and went on to share forty-five years of marriage with him until his passing in 1985. Margaret believed strongly in, and treasured, her family life. A caring, giving parent, Margaret was adept at guiding her family through the various bumps and curves of life, always ready to celebrate a success or applaud an achievement, always having the time to lend an ear. The proud Mother of Calvin Tarry (deceased), Lynda (Frank) Ramsdale of Drumheller, Greg (Cathy Gaviller) Tarry, Shannon (Gordon) Shaw and Cindy Liske, all of Calgary; Margaret treasured her role as Grandmother to Todd (Leigh) Somers, Tobi (Candee) Somers, Sara (Axel Huselmeyer) Tarry, Cassy (James) Draho, Meaghan (Lynne Gibson) Whitney, Jennifer (Shane Grifak) Liske and Scott Liske, Jacqueline and Kyle Dubreuil; and Great-Grandmother to Jeffrey, Justin, Marina, Serenity, Heather, Kelsie, Cameron and Cooper. She is survived by her sisters Kathleen (Nancy) Ellison and Shirley (Clarence) Jackson of Prince Albert, Violet McCubbin of Calgary, and her brother Norm (Dora) of Regina. Margaret is also survived by her sisters-in-law Barb (Len) Tarry of Swift Current, Olga (Doug) Tarry of Kindersley, Audrey (Gordon) Anderson of Toronto, as well as her long time friend Leona Johnson. Gone before her to welcome her home are her sister Mabel, her brother John (Mick) and his wife Marge, her brothers-in-law Len and Doug Tarry, brother-in-law Wes McCubbin, her grandson Bryce, her son Calvin and her husband Arnold. Services Celebrating the Life of Margaret Tarry will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, January 24, 2004 at 11:00 A.M.
