Condolences
Dr Margaret Price was my absolute favourite prof.
I took a chemistry course from her and she asked me about my last name (Hari), as she very clearly remembered going to school with a Harnet Hari (my Dad!) here in Calgary (Milton Williams school). She told me about how my Dad’s grandfather used to pick all the kids up along the way as they trudged to school each morning in his wagon (an old covered bread wagon) and how he offered them all breakfast on the way (from the day-old baked goods he picked up for his hog farm). And apparently my Dad “pranced alongside the wagon on his horse and in a different silk shirt each day”. (Well that changed years later when he started farming himself Lol)
Not only was Dr Price an engaging and brilliant teacher, but I loved her sense of style! She was Grace Kelly mixed with Marie Curie. I was fascinated with her, and she was a role model for me from that day forward. She’s the only prof I remember, after all these years and all these courses I’ve taken. A beautiful soul.
