Obituary of Cecil Reid
Cecil Reid, beloved husband of Norma Reid of Calgary, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Saturday, January 10, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 76 years.
Cecil was born on July 22, 1927 in Sardis, BC. Cecil served overseas with the Merchant Marines during WW II. He married his wife Norma in 1947, a year later they moved to Meeting Creek, AB where he farmed for ten years, before moving to Calgary. Cecil was employed with Maclin Ford until the time of his illness.
Cecil will be lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-six years, Norma; his children Brenda (Doug), Bruce (Vera), Roger (Loretta), Brian; and nine grandchildren. He will be missed by his sister Edith, and brother Sam. He was predeceased by his brothers, Jim, Bill, David, and Noel.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Friday, January 16, 2004 at 2:30 P.M.
