Obituary of H. Meryle Sutton

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Meryle Sutton, beloved wife of the late Mr. F. Ralph Sutton of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital on Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at the age of 87 years. Meryle was born on October 14, 1916 in Nepawa, MB. She earned her Registered Nurse Degree with the Victorian Order of Nurses, and specialed in Winnipeg at the St. Boniface Hospital. Meryle and Ralph met while Meryle was a Nurse in the Air Force during World War II and were married in 1943. She was a member of the Glencoe Club, Earl Grey Golf and Country Club, Past President of the Rotary Anns of Calgary, and was a volunteer with Meals On Wheels. However, her greatest achievement was raising and having a family. Meryle also enjoyed playing the piano, golf and bridge. Meryle will be lovingly remembered by her children, Frank (Kathy), Karen (Bob), and Shelley (John); as well as seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
