Obituary of Eileen Margaret Roy
Eileen Margaret Roy (nee Boyle) passed away peacefully at the Canmore General Hospital on Sunday, January 4, 2004 at the age of 90 years.
Eileen was born in Granum, AB on January 29, 1913 and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She and her husband Len retired to Canmore in 1980. Eileen was predeceased by Len in February 2001 after sixty-one years of marriage. She will be remembered for her kindness, her nurturing manner and her loyal friendship.
Eileen is lovingly remembered by her daughter Dixie (John) Nachtigal and her son Jack (Joanne), all of Calgary. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Hebert of Calgary, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (810 – 7th Street, Canmore, AB) on Friday, January 9, 2004 at 7:30 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (810 – 7th Street, Canmore, AB) on Saturday, January 10, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Burke Hoschka, Presider. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the loving care and many kindnesses shown by Dr. Alex Brothers, the staff of the Acute Care Unit at the Canmore General Hospital, caregivers from Home Care, and the staff of the Bow River Senior Citizen’s Lodge.
