Obituary of Gordon Francis Meyer

Gordon Meyer, beloved husband of Shirley Meyer of Calgary, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Sunday, December 14, 2003 at the age of 53 years. During Gord’s career, he worked in many communities including Fort McMurray, Edmonton, Fort Saskatchewan and Yellowknife, his last six years were spent with Lockerbie and Hole, Calgary. Gord had a love for life and a passion for the outdoors and was an avid golfer. His grandchildren were the light of his life. His wife Shirley was the love of his life who brought joy and happiness to him. Besides his loving wife, Gord is survived by his children, Christopher and Gabrielle Meyer of Edmonton, Kevin and Lori Meyer of Calgary, Jo-Ann Meyer of Edmonton and by their mother Alvina Ingwersen of Edmonton. He is also survived by Shirley’s children, Kevin Ormond of Calgary, Melanie and Shayne McClellan of Calgary, and Tim Ormond of Calgary and three grandchildren, Travis Meyer, Kailey Meyer and Ian McClellan. He is also survived by his mother Audrey Meyer of Edmonton, his brothers and sister Patricia and Jerry Brix, and Bruce and Noreen Meyer, all of Calgary, Doug Meyer and Judy Boorse, and Tom Meyer all of Edmonton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and close friends. He was predeceased by his father Frank Meyer. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), on Thursday, December 18, 2003 at 2:30 P.M.
