Obituary of Dorothy Lynn McDowell

Dodie McDowell (nee Huber) passed away, surrounded by peace and love, on Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at the Rosedale Hospice at the age of 58 years. Dodie fought a courageous battle against ovarian cancer for over two years. Dodie was a rare light, brightening the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. A true testament to her spirit was the steady stream of family and friends who came to see her and be in her presence while she was still in body. One of Dodie’s greatest joys was having the opportunity to travel through Europe this summer with her best friend and partner Robert (Bob) Wade. On August 27, 2003, while in Europe, Dodie and Bob said “I do,” turning their devoted friendship into a beautiful marriage. Dodie will be fondly remembered for her loving and compassionate nature, tender heart, life-loving spirit, and for bringing people together in celebration. A Celebration of Dodie’s Life will be held in the Lobby of the Martha Cohen Theatre (215 – 8 Ave. S.E.) on Monday, December 15, 2003 at 7:00 P.M.
