Obituary of John Campbell Drager
Jack Drager died peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 26, 2003 after a two-year struggle with cancer. He was 83 years old.
Born in Walton, ON, Jack served as an officer in the Canadian Army Service Corps during World War II. While stationed in England he met Joan Mary Richards, who became his beloved wife and lifelong friend. Joan died in 1999. Jack had a long and successful career as a petroleum landman with Shell Canada and after 1975, running his own company, Drager Minerals Ltd. A member of the Earl Grey and Ranchman’s Clubs, Jack was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman who loved spending time on the links, riding his horses, and working on his acreage. He was also a keen competitor around a card or billiards table. He enjoyed these activities most while sharing them with his wife, his good friends and his children.
Jack’s passionate love of life and laughter will be sorely missed by his many friends; his loving son and daughter, Derek (Teresa) and Anne (Steve); and his three grandsons, John, Ian and Nicholas.
