Obituary of Rocco Gallucci
Rocco Antonio Gallucci, beloved husband of Raffaella of Calgary passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on Saturday, November 22, 2003 at the age of 86 years.
Rocco was born in Aprigliano, Cozenza, Italy on August 19, 1917. He immigrated to Nordegg, Alberta in 1952 and married his life-long bride in January, 1953. He moved to Calgary shortly after and was renowned for his great cooking at the Isle of Capri Restaurant, Hy’s Steak House, partner in Bertello’s Italian Restaurant in Banff, and many more over his career. After retiring from the restaurant business, Rocco worked at Sears until his 65th birthday. His love in life was his family, cooking and his garden. Rocco touched the hearts of many people and will be remembered as a very religious, unselfish and hospitable individual.
Rocco is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Raffaella and three sons, Agostino and JoAnn, Mario and Kathy, Francesco and Tina; two granddaughters, Christa and Alissa. Nieces, Maria Muto of Calgary and her children Natalina, Gianfranco and Frances and their families; Lina Petrone in Italy, Maria Romano in France and their families; and his sister in law Natalina Gallucci in Italy. Rocco was predeceased by his parents, Agostino and Michelina, his brother Francesco, and his sisters Franceschina, Giulia and Maria.
