Obituary of Rick Arthur WILLOCK

May 20, 1963 – Calgary, Alberta June 1, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta Rick Willock of Calgary, AB, passed away suddenly on June 1, 2016 at the age of 53 years. Rick was born in Calgary, AB on May 20, 1963 to Jo-Anne Sherdohl and Pat Willock. Rick and his mother moved to Saskatoon, SK where he resided till his late teens. Rick & Marcella met at the age of 12 and dated on and off many years. At the age of 16, Marcella gave birth to their son, Nathan Christopher Hodgson. Rick and Marcella parted ways when they were 19 and Rick moved to British Columbia and later onto California until his late 20’s. From there he returned to Calgary. Rick and Marcella met up again in their early 30’s and purchased an acreage in Winfield, AB and resided there for many years. In 2008, Rick returned to Calgary but always remained close with Marcella. Anyone who knew Rick where blessed as he was a gentle giant. He loved his peace and solitude, and was happy most working on vehicles or motorcycles. He was able to do anything he put his mind to. His other hobby was thrifting for old stereo systems, he spend a lot of his spare time on eBay scouring the web for them. He had a great eye for good items. He loved to joke around, had a good work ethic, but loved to slack off when he felt he needed a break. He wouldn’t tolerate anything from anyone and you would definitely know when he was upset. But his passion was riding his bike. When he was riding he didn’t have a care in the world. Rick and Nathan were extremely close. Rick was Nathans go to guy for anything. He was very proud of his son and of all his accomplishments. He loved his hair and that is how he got his nickname Peacock. We will all miss your beautiful smile and big hugs. You will be forever in our hearts. “We Love You to Infinity.” Rick is survived by his mother, Jo-Anne Sherdahl; his son, Nathan and daughter in law Becky; his grandchildren, Crislyn, Kye, Shayna, Mariah, Isabelle; his stepchildren, Justin, Tynnella, Tyanna, John B., Jacob and Willy; his step grandchildren; stepbrothers, Tim, Jason, Kevin Willock and his closest friend, Marcella Hodgson. Rick was predeceased by his father, Pat Willock. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street S.E.) on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
