Condolences
Hello Myles, we were saddened to hear of your father’s passing. That was a heck of a cabin he built at Panorama and I am sure you will have many fond memories of the time spent there with family and friends.
Our sincere condolences to you, Gina and your family.
Regards.

We were sorry to hear about the passing of Ray. He was a lovely man who lived a long and productive life. His artistic ability particularly stands out in our minds with those beautiful Xmas stockings that he made hanging on the wall at Panorama. They were so well done and thoughtful, representing something unique to each family member. He will be missed for many reasons. Our thoughts and condolences are with in the celebration of his life.

I will treasure in my heart forever how Ray blessed me despite the difficulties and grief during the time of his son and my then husband’s death. He is loyal, committed and a cheerful giver. He will always be remembered.
By the way, I believe deep in my soul and heart that it is no accident or coincidence that Ray passed on May 10th, the very day of his first formal dance with Vilma! What a beautiful event to treasure.
My heart and love goes out to all of the Flaig family who will miss Ray so much. All of the Flaig family are a blessing to me. I think particularly of Vilma at this time. What a beautiful life and marriage. You are in my prayers.
Love, Candice Casey

To Vilma and the family.
It is always a sad dad when a cherished member of the family is deceased.
Ray was always a sound, mature, kind and helping person whose
wise touch contributed to the many lives with which he interacted.
He will be remembered fondly by us all.
I was saddened to hear about your loss. I have great memories of Ray from my visits to Calgary and especially to Panorama. I remember his kindness, his sense of humor (which he needed after “acquiring” the Timmons family) and his unbelievable skill in carpentry. I’m sure he will be missed by many.
Vilma, Doug, Miles & Family,
I was saddened to hear of Ray’s passing. Ray and Vilma were always so kind and welcoming to my Mum and I have fond memories of them both. Ray will certainly be missed by many.

Our heartfelt sympathies to the entire Flaig family. This passing mark a milestone in your family. Now is the time to remember all the wonderful memories this fine man provided and cherish all the intangible strengths he passed on to all of you.
God Bless
I have fond memories of Uncle Ray’s laughter- laughing so hard, tears were streaming from his eyes! For example, when he and my Dad were loading a tent trailer onto a raft being towed from Gabriola to Mudge Island, they collapsed in laughter as they tried to bail the water from the raft. Another example was when the Bruckner family met them at a campground in Vernon. They disguised themselves in the next camp site, holding newspapers in front of them…peering through holes in the paper, and of course, giggling.
Thinking of the family during this difficult time.

The Brothers Flaig were pretty good Dads. I am still having difficulty with Dad being gone, as I am sure you will as well with Ray. I still miss Gordon.
I have a strong memory of when I was a boy visiting you guys in Edmonton years ago. Ray was driving and I ripped off a real stinker in the back seat. He was totally grossed out, must have been wondering what kind of hillbillies his brother was raising! Well, he was right, I’m still an uncouth hillbilly. It’s kind of funny how that trots through my mind several times a year. I was mortified at the time as to how rotten that was!
We were fortunate to have such great men as fathers, and I think I’m going to have another beer and miss them both for a little while this evening.
