Condolences
My prayers and sympathy go out to all of you. Got to know Val when she lived in Estevan – she was a treasure!
So sorry to hear of your loss.
We didn’t know Velma, but recall Edna talking of her.
My parents, Leo and Mabel, most definitely knew her.
All the Best.

Our heartfelt condolences to you for your loss. I see her “spunk” in Her Great Grandchild Bentley and her tenderness in her Great Grandchild Zachary. Her family is the greatest gift that she has given us.
Val was a joy to spend time with. She brought happiness and laughter to all the lives she touched – and she touched a lot! Our thoughts are with the family at this time. In memory of Val there should be more laughter than tears, that is the kind of person she was.
We have lots of good memories of fun times spent with Val and Tom back in the Dominion days and after we moved to Carnduff. Val was usually making the music and Tom doing the visiting!
Thinking of you, Tom, and all of your family as you reminisce and celebrate Val. Her’s was a life well lived.
Heather and family . So sorry to hear about the passing of your mother our deepest sympathy to all .
Our thoughts are with you at this sad time. Val will be greatly missed. She touched our family in so many ways.
We will miss Val at Braeside 55 plus club she always had a smile for everyone.
Murray and I both hold all of Val’s family in our prayers. Val was murrays moms very good friend. Murray refers her to a second mom when he was growing up. We spent many a good night laughing and joking with both Tom Val and murrays parents when they were still here. I do know one thing that Val passed on the same wit and smile to her daughter heather. Val will be deeply missed by all that new her. But I am sure she is having a laugh and a good visit with Alice and Orval up above
Val (Velma) was my piano player for over 12 years. Not only was she a great musician with PETER & PALS but also a great “Goodwill Ambassador”. She was loved by all who came in contact with her.
There are many good musicians but I have not met any who had a better sense of timing. On many occasions I have been congratulated on having a band that is easy to dance to. That was due to Val’s innate sense of timing.
I wish to pass mine and my wife’s condolences to Val’s family. She will be truly missed.
Keep on playing Val!
Love,
Peter & Myrna
What a good time everyone had when Val was in our midst. Watching her play the keyboard entertaining others, it was hard to determine who was enjoying it more – the audience or Val. The smile on her face made others happy just to be in the room. We’re sure she’s already arranging a new gig in heaven.
We grew up in the same neighbourhood in Manitoba and Velma was a good friend for over 80 years. She played piano with my Dad and for the last number of years with me. She will be sadly missed at Braeside on Thursday mornings.
I met Val when she first came to Braeside. She was such an asset to the club. Her love of music and a bubbly personality would put a smile on everyone’s face. May she now play all the peppy music in heaven.
Rest in peace, Val you’ll be missed.
My most sincere sympathy to Tom and family.
What an incredible life I have just read about your wife, mother, grandmother, or should we just call Val the Matriarch of your family. You all must have many happy memories to carry with you for a lifetime!! May you cherish those memories and hold them dear, whenever, you want a moment with her. God Bless!
We are so sorry to hear of Val’s passing. For many years we had the pleasure of spending time with both Val and Tom at family gatherings, music jams, sharing many a good laugh and just being with them. We always enjoyed seeing what new thing Val was making and never tired of hearing Tom’s stories. We wish him all the best in the future and hope all the wonderful memories of his life with Val will help console him and the family at this difficult time. Rest in Peace Val.
Don and I hold you Tom and your family in our thoughts and prayers over the news of Val passing. Such a wonderful friend, both of you, not only to our parents but to all our families. Her music brought so much joy to so many, and dad especially loved to jam with her. Just think of the music those 2 will be playing together now in heaven. Val had such a wonderful spirit about her, when she laughed, you couldn’ t help but feel good. she was such a multi talented lady. we will miss her terribly. Tom, we wish you all the best, hold tight to all the wonderful memories of your years with Val. Our love to you and your wonderful family. God bless
