Condolences
Our deep condolences to Deo’s family. He was a valued member of our Rotary Club of Okotoks and started our Burundi Project back in 2004, subsequently successfully completed. He is well remembered and we are privileged to have known him and to have had him in our midst. We called him a friend.

My deepest sympathies and prayers to Deo’s family and friends. I worked with Deo many years ago and really enjoyed his presence at our school. He had a kind and gentle heart and wanted to tell the world about his journey from Africa to Canada. His courage, strength and determination to have a better life here for his family has been an inspiration for me and the students he worked with. One of the happiest times for him was his wedding day! My husband and I were walking in the park and saw him. He waved us over and introduced us Chailla and the children, he was so proud. May God grant you all peace during this difficult time. Deo’s smile and love will be with you always.
I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of M. M. My son, Sam, was a student of his last year. M. M ignited a love of math for him. I am very grateful for the opportunity M. M gave me to volunteer in his class and teach his students a couple of art projects. It saddens me to hear of all of the wonderful things he tried to accomplish during his lifetime after his passing. I wish I had known more about this mysterious man.
Please accept our condolences and may our prayers help comfort you and hasten the journey of his soul to Heaven.

My family and I offer our most deepest condolences to Chailla and the children. We visited with Deo a week previous and his passing has been felt deeply. We are praying for your family for strength and peace for he was a wonderful man. We have known Deo for many years and his humour was so heartwarming.
May God comfort you and embrace you at this time of sadness. He is in heaven and at peace.
Jennifer, Moses, McAnthony, Sean and Nina
Dear Chailla,
Angelo, Adam and Abigail,
My daughter (Madeleine Wise) teaches at St Cecila’s where your beloved Deo taught.
She often spoke of him much adoration and love for his works at school and in his personal life.
I offer my sincere condolences to you and your families.
Blessings to All,
M. Anne Engel
