Condolences
Mrs. McLeod, Marg, Andrew, Lynn, and family;
I am so sorry to know of Mr. McLeod’s passing. I’m afraid I was still in shock when I saw you Marg, Lynn, and your mom on Feb. 5th as my own mom had just passed away hours earlier that day.
I remember Mr. McLeod’s sense of humor around the dinner table and when I was a guest at the cabin in Trout Lake. How happy I am to know that he was still able to enjoy the cabin so much in recent years.
Once again, I am so sorry for your loss.
Blessings to you all,
Sandy Pihowich
Our sincere condolences to you. Iris and your family on the loss of your husband, father and grandfather. I have fond memories of Iain and his sense of humour during our banking days. He will be missed.
Iris and family,
I met Iain at St. Andrews United over 20 years ago, and was struck by his gracious and gentle character. He will be missed.
Iris and family.
Carol & I are down in Palm Desert but it was a sad day when I saw Iain’s obituary in the Herald. I sat back and started to recall our similar career paths. School in Scotland, a Scottish Bank and then off to Canada with RBC. I thought about the support you and Iain gave me in Edmonton when I was single and needed a home cooked meal!. At that time Iain and I worked at Jasper Place before he opened 142nd street Branch. After running into you at Revelstoke I knew that Trout Lake was down the Nakusp road but thanks to Google I now know exactly where. Our thoughts go out to you and family.
My sincere sympathy to Iris, Margaret and Andrew and grandchildren. I remember Iain very well and the good times and friendship we had in Kiwanis playing ping pong and visiting. Iris, I would like to get together with you when you are up to it.
I am not able to attend the funeral service on Saturday but you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Dear Iris,
I learned of Ian’s passing a few moments ago, and it saddened me immensely. Ian was such a good friend and mentor. I fondly recall our Hillhurst banking days under the iron fist of James Lorne Smith. Often if was Ian’s humor that got us through the worst of Mr. Smith’s tirades. Along the way, Ian and I opened the Montgomery sub branch. We referred to ourselves as the McLeod Brothers, and I happily recall some other not so favorable appellations Ian reserved for me, all deservedly so. I especially also fondly remember you as the friendly and welcoming girl from Lacombe, which is where I started my RBC career. With warmest thoughts and love are to you and your family.
