Obituary of Vito ROMITO
December 1, 1923 – Bari, Italy
October 30, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta
Vito Romito, beloved husband of Teresa Romito (nee Marra) of Calgary, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2015 at the age of 91 years.
Vito was born on December 1st, 1923 to Nicola and Maria Romito. He served in the Italian Military for over three years in Regiment 32. In 1958 Vito came to Canada to marry Laura, his first love. Following Laura’s passing in 1968, Vito was remarried in 1969 to his second and eternal love, Teresa.
Besides his loving wife Teresa, Vito is survived by his children, Joe Oliverio and his partner Margie Sedgwick, Maria Romito, Grazia MacDougall and her husband Rick, Palma Stolk and her husband Terry, grandchildren; Imma, Lindsay, Theresa, Teena, Vince, John, James, Nigel, and Nicholas. Vito is also survived by his five great-grandchildren, Enzo, Vincent, Fabio, Khaleesi, and Elliana.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through .
