Obituary of Virginia Dawn KINGSTON
April 20, 1966 – Wawa, Ontario
September 4, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta
Virginia Dawn Kingston succumbed to cancer on September 4, 2015, at Dulcina Hospice in Calgary.
Virginia was born in 1966 in Wawa, Ontario, and met Brian in Chetwynd, BC. Their children were born in Whitehorse and they headed to Alberta where they eventually settled in Calgary. Virg was a cheerful and fun-loving woman who was famous for her award-winning cakes and tireless work ethic. She looked forward to travelling and retiring in the Okanagan. Virginia had boundless energy and enthusiasm and enjoyed many pursuits. She loved getting to know people and the rich tapestry of lasting friendships woven through her life is testament to her vibrant personality. She loved her mother Elaine, sisters Carol, Rosemary, and Wendy, brothers Kenneth and Arleigh, her nieces and nephews, as well as her many friends.
After her diagnosis, Virg was thankful for the time to enjoy her family and friends near and far. She faced the past eleven months with grace, strength, and humour.
Virg is loved and cherished by Brian Smith, her children James (Jodie), Brandon, and Ashley, whom she adored; predeceased by her father, David.
The family wish to thank all those who sent cards and flowers, phoned, or visited Virg at home and in hospice. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Dulcina Hospice for the comfort and care.
